A locally-made, super-duper versatile workhorse of a bike, Splendid Cycles is proud to offer the Cycle Truck to our customers. It's produced by one of Portland's most accomplished frame builders, Joseph Ahearne, and is a thing of beauty.  We think there are loads (pun intended) of great features to this bike. Most significantly, it is fantastic if you need a bike to carry a lot of heavy things but still want an easy-to-ride everyday bicycle. Whether you live on the third floor or just want a lighter simpler bike, the design of this rig makes the it easy to manuever whether you are on and off the bike.  

As if that's not impressive enough, it's capacity to carry a load almost approaches that of a larger and more expensive front loading cargo bike.  It's versatility, simplicity and with the many different potential builds, allows the Ahearne Cycle Truck to be used by anyone from a dad picking up groceries to mom commuting to work or a business looking to lighten their load and deliver by bike. This bike really needs to be ridden to be appreciated.

Pricing, color choices, and parts spec of the Ahearne Cycle Truck at Splendid Cycles will be exactly the same as the information from the Cycle Truck website, but without the waiting period.

At Splendid Cycles, you can purchase the stock models right off of the sales floor today or order your very own in the color you want with the parts you need for your particular situation.

We can swap parts on any one of the above framesets, usually in less than 3 days if you prefer one parts kit with another size/color.

We also stock the Ahearne MAP handlebars, a great upgrade to any bike.

Also in stock is the custom sized waterproof and lockable Alu-box that fits neatly on the front rack.  This box is the perfect match for the Cycle Truck where you want an every day useful box that is safe, secure, and waterproof. This alloy box is great for a photogapher wanting a bike based camera case -$450

Another fantastic up-grade would be to outfit a Cycle Truck with a BionX PL-350 electric assist. While many cities are flat enough to ride cargo bikes, for those needing a little extra help, this pedal assist system will make any hilly city flat as a pancake, so to speak!
